The blacksmith shop has been smokin' this morning and my arm is coming off or at least feels like it. Have a blister on my right paw from swinging a 10 pound sledge one handed for a few hours and am I glad the fire's out! Here's a pic of my newest kagas katne after the first heat. Many more to go. This is from old Danish sword steel hidden away in my cave for many years. Bawanna, you ever do a sword handle?

What's the current spine thickness on that Kagas Katne?
(It looks like an umbrella leaning there, not a knife. :D )

Never done a sword but would shore love to come down and help ya make one, that looks awesome.

I just bet there was a whole bunch of pounding to get it looking like that.

Amigo, can you say Mary Poppins?:D The spine is 1/4 inch give or take. Originally a hand and a half or bastard from about 12-1300 A.D. was the goal, but later realized that was just too much for this old codger to swing, other than showing off. So a short sword seemed a more intelligent choice....and perhaps doubling as a Martini mounted XXL assegai......

Blue lander is correct ,
Thank you for sharing
