Drag and drop (or cut and paste) the URLs into a text file, then save that text file to disk.

The directions depend on the browser you're using, but all do have a way to back them up. In Internet Explorer, go to the FILE menu and select Import/Export. Follow the directions and choose the favorites to export. That will create a bookmarks.html file that you can save to a flash key.

I use Firefox and the Foxmarks bookmark add-on that keeps a listing on a server "somewhere" and I can syncrhonize all of my computers to the same listing. Really handy!

If you are using Windows and IE your bookmarks are automatically saved as Favorites (big yellow star icon) under your username folder in Documents and Settings.

For Firefox, while the browser is open click on Bookmarks, Organize Bookmarks, File, Export....then save it wherever you want.

To restore lost bookmarks follow the same route except you click on Import instead of Export, then select 'from file' and choose your location.
