Just curious what books folks have, that they would consider getting an electronic version for a Kindle or Nook etc...

Especially for urban/suburban disaster prepping and knowledge during an event? (of course, knowledge ahead of time is plan A) :)

So far out of mine, I'm leaning towards "When All Hell Breaks Loose" by Cody Lundin

PS, I see Amazon has a bunch of books that are only in Kindle format, some free and very cheap, if anyone has any of those they wold recommend, toss them in to.

There is lots of out of print stuff available for free on Gutenberg if you want. Granted its all the older stuff, but still good, and some stuff that is very obscure.

Woodcraft and Camping, by George Washington Sears. free kindle edition. Grab it.

Google internet archive then put in a search there, for "camping"or "woodcraft" select "texts" as what you want to search in. Most give you a choice of what format you want to download in .epub,kindle,pdf,etc. Plenty there by Nessmuk,Kreps, etc, also great selection of books on hunting. Enjoy!

I don't own a ton of e-books in this category, but here are two you might find interesting:

Deep Survival: Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why

^ Rather than focusing on gear, this book takes a pretty interesting look at attitude and mentality that lead to successful survival, by looking at lots of different case studies. Pretty interesting reading, and a part of the "survival" equation that doesn't get enough attention, imo.

Build the Perfect Bug Out Bag: Your 72-Hour Disaster Survival Kit

^ Obviously, there is already lots of info on this forum and elsewhere in regards to this topic, but I do think that this author has some interesting and unconventional ideas that make sense.

There are many free books through amazon for kindle ( I'm not sure if they are compatable for other readers though). Just search through any subject. I have found tons having to do with survival, trapping, and food preservation. And go back and check every so often because they do change them from time to time.
