Thought I'd share a picture of a boom parang along with a 1311 and a ratmandu.

I plan to do some side by side work with these two since they're the same stock. I'm also thinking the effective reach on the Parang is going to be similar based on the way you can easily move your grip back on the handle. Should be fun :)

I haven't been able to get outside with them yet but from swinging inside it seems like the 1311 is a better machete and the boom parang is more like a hatchet replacement. I think it's gonna prove to be a killer bushcraft chopper

Here's another comp pic, tried to roughly line them by the standard grip position, but there'd still be a room to choke back a little on the BP, especially with a lanyard:

Well done on the d-guard Azoth, thx for the pics.

I put one on my Hell Razor and like it a lot. Going to hold off on the Parang as I may sand the scales, want to use it stock a few times first before I decide.

Here's my BP posed with a Gransfors Wildlife Hatchet. I camped this weekend and these two along with a folding saw
handled all of the necessary wood processing. I didn't do a head to head chopping comparison but I feel like the BP
would hold it's own.

Looks great!

I've always like the Gränsfors Bruk line. Might have to pick up a hatchet or small forest ax eventually, but my Fiskars stuff is still going strong and hasn't given me any reason to complain.
