booooOOOMMMM

American Artillery Association nationals.
Target competitions for black powder cannon and separate competitions for mortars.

We have and 1861, 10lb Parrot Rifle entered. Should do well. It's one accurate SOB :)

Good luck, I hope the payment for the BBSH helps put a hole in the center of the target!

:D

Need a really big holster for that Cannon?

:D

Well it was a great weekend and a fine time was had by all. We finished....
1st Place Rifled Gun Grand Aggregate
2nd Place long range
2nd Place Counter Battery
3rd Place Accuracy (?)
Highest 100 yd score 50-2x

We used 1861 technology, i.e. 4 lands and grooves compared to our closest competitor using a cannon lined with an old German anti-tank gun with about 14 lands and grooves and a telescopic sight.
Lots of fun. Next shoot Sept 25/26 in Granby Mass. Wish us luck :) :)

I've got a 6 pounder. . . . ain't no rifling. . . smooth bore. . . made from a stainless steel extruded deep sea well drilling pipe. . . shoots a hardball more than a mile. . . . of course there doesn't seem to be any way to determine where it's going to land

Smooth bores kick ass also. Especially with cannister. The rifled guns tend to scatter the shot too much.

Just added a mortar to my arsenal. Shoots beer cans filled with cement. Competition ranges 100 and 200 yards. Got any old CBL cans I can use?? Then again, never mind. They get too carroided from that liquid they contain. They'd probably fall apart before leaving the muzzle :D

Does 1whoporks know you're shooting at 10 lb parrots??????

Better duck when that bird flies over.... woohooo...........
