In another post Ken had asked to see some pics of what I call my Boot Sheath. I told him I'd email him the pics but thought heck now that the puter is fixed and I can post pics again might as well share with everyone The Boot Sheath is not just for boots though. Works great as an inside the waistband sheath or IWB too. These are fully lined and have a U shaped welt that skives down at the top. You insert the knife by squeezing the ends together which opens the sheath up.

Sometimes folks will have me make this as an additional sheath when they order a knife:

Handy horseback if ya shotgun your boots (tucking your jean leg inside the boot is called shotgunning).

Works good in the back pocket too:

Normally I make these in just the one size that fits knives from 5" to 7" overall. There is no fitting or wet molding so is really the only sheath I make that I don't need the knife for to make it. I have also stretched the design for longer knives by simply adding an inch or two to the pattern.

This is my own personal one with my knife. This is a great combo as this knife model I make The Vaquero Ultralite, doesn't have a handle, just one solid piece of damascus. Therefore it is very flat. and rides great in this sheath. If I was a better businessman I'd build a boatload of this combo. Every time I have ever built this up it sells overnight. But Vaquero Ultralite is Dave talk for don't have enough damascus left to make one of my regular knives.

Questions and comments are always welcome and thanks for looking.

Looks good Dave. I like how its nice and flat, makes it a versatile sheath with plenty of options.
Take care, John

Thanks John. You should be getting a package soon.

Thanks v8r I've used lots of different opitions. The design isn't particular. Whatever I have around. Funny cause as soon as I'm done typing here I'm cutting out four. One for an order and three for a show coming up in a couple of weeks. I'll be using 7/8 oz veggie tan and a 2/3 oz upholstery leather for the lining. Lots of times I'll use a 4/5 oz oiltan for the lining. Its a good use of scrap lots of time.

Great pics Dave , and great sheaths

I've become an absolute convert to the pocket clip folder sheath , it just offers so many options .
