Hello. Im looking for a good quality boot knife, OWL not more than 7", im more interested in production sides, but open to all the suggestions. Anyone has the Camillus boot knives? They seems very good price, i wonder how the quality on them. Thanks for all the infos.

I've got one of the Camillus Boot knives and it's pretty nice for a boot knife. I wouldn't reccomend the one with the Kydex sheath though, it's pretty sad. The leather one seems quite a bit better, and it's cheaper.

Sharpedge,

Don't dismiss handmade/customs outright. Some of them aren't that much more than the productions knives.

For 7" OAL, you have some choices for around $100 mark. There's Livesay, Running Dog, Raker, Hallberg and others.

BTW, what defines a "boot knife?" Is it the blade shape, or the sheath? I tend to think the design of the sheath and the knife can be any design I am comfortable with and relatively unobtrusive.

I think a boot knife must be thin and the shealth should have clip on the outside, so you can conceal part of the knife in ur boot. I've been thinking about getting a lower legstrap, a velcro one maybe and just clip a small fix blade w/ it.

Yesterday I "traded-into" a "LIKE-NEW" Cold Steel Peace Keeper II from a local pawn-shop. (I got a GREAT deal), and this is one GREAT "boot-knife". It is RAZOR sharp, and has an excellent point, with a wide "dual-edged" Carbon V blade! And that excellent-shaped Kraton (rubber) handle...

With the "clip-on" sheath it came with, it can be used as a "boot-knife", or IWB carry.

IMO, one of the coolest production boot knives out on the market is the Gerber Applegate/Fairbairn. Comes with a great Kydex sheath as well.
Then there's the Gerber Guardian Backup. Good hunting!
