I wear a pair of Dayton Rebel boots and I am looking for a nice fixed blade boot knife/sheath to carry on one of the forementioned boots. Comfort and ease of deployment are the factors to be considered.

Come to think of it, I have a badger attack LE coming.... Which will need a sheath. If anyone has pictures of decent boot knives and or sheath systems please feel free to post.

Thanks in advance.

Ease of deployment? Only when you tuck in your pants legs. Otherwise you will have to pull one up calf high everytime you want the knife. Then you'll be walking around with a knife handle obviously sticking up out of the boot - deeper carry requires a special sheath to raise the clip enough to hide the knife - which will also show.

Comfort? Depends - if you wear the combination at work some jobs won't allow it, and getting barked on the shins with a knife handle in close proximity to your ankle can be no fun.

Don't ask how I know, just be informed this fad died in the 70's because it was so impractical - most of the boot knives wound up on the belt because that's what works for most. It's a leftover from the Vietnam days when non combat types thought it was cool, boots were common, and CCW wasn't available. I've still got a Gerber Mk I and it looks more useless every time I get it out. If you have to have one, get a single edge that you can hunt with and carry on your belt - the size is about that of a large open folder, and very useful in a drop point design.

(Laughs...) ;) I know it's been done and it is rather impractical, but it is yet another knife that can always be there (even if slightly out of reach). I have never had a boot knife and I thought I'd try it out. I have and have had lots of knives on the belt / pocket at one point or another and they will still be there for practicality.

The deeper carry with a clip is the style I think I'd like. I am always thinking to myself.... "If I only had another knife...."

I just bought a gerber guardian kind of on a whim, it arrived in the mail yesterday. I love love love this little knife. I've made tentative plans to introduce it to my truck, but if they dont get along i think it'll be my EDC for work.
