Boot Knife

I wore a boot knife for years while living in the Peoples Repiblik of New Jersey due to the silly knife laws.

I don't think that the RAT sheathing in it's stock form offers a good solution for everyday boot carry.

I found that wearing the knife on the outside of the boot is the best option and a wide band that surrounds the ankle overtop the boot works the best.

If you could make up a cuff that the RC-3 sheath would bolt or lace to you'd have a good option.

buy some ballistic nylon strapping on ebay for 2 bucks and break out a darner needle and 550 chord guts. I make my own field sheaths all the time, takes an hour or two but you can customize it however you want-design the retention, the mounting system, everything. You can make a boot sheath with a profile no bigger than 2ply ballistic nylon...

PayetteRucker I like your idea but I would rather have a kydex sheath, maybe I should just get a custom boot sheath made for my HEST. Do any of you know who I may order something like this from? preferably someone who has a HEST in house so I wont have to send mine in.

I rigged up a ghetto version for my Izula in my work boots. It hangs out of my boot so it is easy to get to and if it gets hung on something it will break away.

The Izula is probably the best for boot carry, too bad I don't have one. I wonder if any other people carry like this?

I would be too paranoid that I would loose it.

It does not matter how crappy a knife is, when I loose one it always ticks me off.
