I have a large bowie that had a full convex grind, not just the edge. I finally had to break down and sharpen it with a normal bevel. I wish I had had that link before I spent all that time putting a normal bevel on it. I wonder how much I would need to spend to get set up with this system.

The discount version is to get a piece of leather from Tandy, or even an old belt, secure it to a block of wood, and get about $10 worth of sandpaper in a range of grit from the auto parts store.
