So. Day off. Friends all work. No money to go out. What to do (other than some yardwork)? Cordwrap and patina a BK14, of course.

Meanwhile...

That's koa wood. They'll be my first scales I've ever made. Pics will follow when I get new saw blades to finish roughing them out and start working in earnest.

Great patina and great wrap. The 14, which I used to have no interest in, is now on my short list. Can't wait to see WIP photos of those scales.

Thanks, guys. I'll be getting my saw blades tomorrow, I think. This little guy's been sitting around since I got him a while ago and got a new job (which doesn't allow carrying knives on the premises), but then I went back through some of the threads here and got the bug. And I like the khaki better than the OD Green that was on him previous.
