boride aluminum oxide stones

i needing some replacement stones for my edge pro,was going to order new ones from edgepro!but then saw these and thought i would give them a try out,as there 6mm thick not just 3mm a little more meat for the money,i would be ordering there 5 stone set from gritomatic.com,there not the cheapest but looks likes like they would go the distance!i was just wondering has anybody tried using these!and how do they preform on there knifes,thought i would ask before i buy them,thank you.

You might also check Congress Tools if you're shopping around... at least get an idea on how the pricing compares.
 
I was planning on getting a 120 & 220 SiC just to try, but have no knowledge on these particular stones/company.

regarding the mold master stones from congress tools,do you just reuse the old holders on your used EP-stones! or make or buy new blanks for these!grate prices though,the boride stones are already in the mail,so i will see how they preform!again my thanks to you guys.:thumbup:

Either way.... I bought a bunch of stones to play with many years ago... I just went to Home Depot, bought a strip of aluminum, cut to length, made a 45 deg. pass on either end with a belt sander, and glued the stones with 3M-77 spray...

... it was pretty simple. (Don't ask how they did, it was a long time ago.....). :confused:
 
Interested to see what you think. They are both aluminum oxide stones so the differences I would guess are in the binder.
