Hello,
I have a BG BJ, really like everything about it, except the handle seems too thin for me. So my questions are: Are the Handles any thicker on INFI Boss Jacks ? Are there different handle thicknesses on different variations? Such as Mag handles and Non Mag ?
Any info is Greatly appreciated.
Also any pics of BG BJ vs CG or LE BJ would be great.
Thank You

Funny you should comment on that. The since most noticeable thing I detected on the BG Boss Jack's was that the G10 slabs were thicker making the grip feel like a standard BJ with liners or something added. I would say that any of the INFI BJ's I've handled felt thinner in hand which is why I see many who requested liners to add some meat to the grip. If I had one recommendation, it would be to make the slabs even slightly thicker and I'm a fan of the standard choil so that is the other thin I miss on the BG version.

Again this is one of those things where you have to consider the context of what role the knife is filling. It is in my eyes this knife's greatest strength is the fact that it is so low profile to keep on a belt meaning you might actually have it with you when you need the additional utility a knife this size brings over something like 3 1/2" EDC. I have carried the BJ CG INFI extensively over the years in the field inside the waistband and out, no other 6" Busse is going to carry as easily… period.

Thicken the handles and that quality would likely fade significantly, therefore less likely to be unobtrusive to carry for long periods. For me, something this size is great for EDC with the right sheath/mode of carry as it can be both discreet/comfortable/excellent utility. Granted, many will say… I'm not allowed to carry such things in my state. If this is something you would lose sleep over doing, maybe you should just sell the knife and buy an ASH-1.

How do these compare to the Jackmandu? Anyone have both that can add some pics?

The BJ was catch and release for me, but I can't say anything bad about it, especially since I didn't use it.

Trying to keep my knife hoard in check though and dediced to let it go before I got attached lol. The choil and wider scales (though still thin) made me decide to stick with the JMD.

Thanks for the photo. I have a JMD, and was trying to decide if I needed a BGBJ.

I still can't decide. LOL

Not getting one of these is my biggest regret of O2W. I may end up picking one up on the exchange eventually.

I'd love to see your sheath set-up. What you're saying about the BJ seems like it could apply to the Axe Hammer, given the right sheath set-up. The BB sheath that it came with is fantastic, as a blade scabbard. But the Tel-lok has always left a lot to be desired on everything I've seen it on, as far as belt carry. I've never been able to abide having one on a sheath, a holster, nothing. Let me guess: that is key to the ways you describe carrying the Boss Jack.

That photo really gives me some regrets. I really like the BJ shape. The thing is, didn't these come in a .220" thickness? I think that is one of the reasons I didn't get one. That and the shape of the grip. Which is actually, I think, the same or similar to the BT6. Which I find that I love. So now I'm wishing I had gotten the Boss Jack.

Yes, .220" is correct. I thought I'd love the BJ. Still think the profile is amazing, but as stated above I let mine go.

The BJ blade profile mounted on the JMD handle would be pretty sick. A slightly longer, narrower blade, 0.187", and full flat. I'd keep the choil.

Bring on the INFI BOSS Jackmandu!!

I had a CG BOSS Jack, it was actually my first Busse, but I ended up selling it because of the thickness. The blade was not wide enough to come to a thin enough edge for me with the given stock. If it was made out of thinner stock, 3/16ths or less, I would have never sold it.

I honestly have been wishing I hadn't sold mine since it was choil-less, but that is only because I could have gotten more money out of it down the road.

I love the design, but the thickness hampered cutting ability in my experience. Of course, my sharpening skills are much better now and I don't have to my re-profiling on a sharp maker, so things might be different today.
