Boss Jack LE scales question.

I'm getting ready to order a Boss Jack LE. I'm thinking of doing the G-10 scales. Do they look good on this knife, or does the black satin paper look better?

I'm thinking of doing either the black G-10 or the pumpkin G-10. But if I go with black, I don't know if spending the extra $ on the G-10 (over the paper) is worth it.

How is pumpkin on this LE blade? Let's see it. ;)

One other question: who's doing a nice leather sheath for this baby? Any pics?
 
The G10 is much stronger then the Black Paper, I think it is worth the extra money. I think that too many colors look great on this knife, any color even black canvas looks great on Satin. That's the hardest part, picking the handle...

If the knife is going to be a user you might want to look at canvas micarta for the scales. The black paper and G10 are beautiful, no denying that, but the canvas micarta feels great in the hand. I pick canvas micarta (or linen) for all of my users. :thumbup:

I have a few Busse in G10 and black paper. Just MY opinion, but regardless of physical merits, the paper looks and feels like hard plastic, and has no grain to distinguish itself. I still like it but prefer G10. Just decide based on your preferences and don't listen to azz-holes including me.
 
Channel your inner hog. Buy one of each and sell the ones you decide are unworthy.

That, and the tan canvas. Plus, if I go with the canvas, I can still keep the whole thing under $400!
 
im really liking the black paper.although the canvas is probably the best for grip the paper isn't far behind.and it looks soooooo goooood!

komondor, I'm another that went for black canvas on the BJLE I chose as a user (#27). Why not? Grippier (to me), satin looks good with everything, and if I want it darker, I can just oil it to make it almost as black as black paper or black G-10. And...if I get tired of it being that dark, a little soap & water and it's back to normal black canvas! ;)

The same applies to tan canvas micarta. :)

I made the same choice with my designated user HOG Muk. :thumbup:

I'm with you on the paper - however, I do wish it was a little thicker
