I've liked the look of these since they came out, but since I'm on the wrong side of the country from the Blade Show I certainly wasn't going to score one new.

Never felt the love for the production version, only the proto, and only the double cut version at that. I got out of the game for a few years, and when I found my way back in I still found myself drooling over these.

As luck would have it, this baby popped up on the exchange recently and I almost didn't pull the trigger because I was spending too much time overthinking it and couldn't decide if I wanted a big choil, small choil, or no choil. While I haven't handled the choilless or small choiled version, I'm gonna have to say I made the right decision, this baby just feels right. And who knows, fortune may smile on me again one of these days and I'll have a chance to fondle the other versions :D

It took 10 years, but definitely worth the wait.

What's that? Pics you say? Well here you go...

And before any of you kind Hogs offer, thank you but no - I'm not sending it anywhere to have you verify its authenticity

Nice score of an awesome blade. I was tempted to buy it but saving up for the F-16 sword.

Those are really nice. The Boss Jack is one of my favorite model(s) of Busse knives and not by chance.:thumbsup:

Kind comments appreciated, as mentioned I've been lusting after one of these for a long time.

And thanks to those who didn't pull the trigger on this one *cough* Cookie *cough* Hauger *cough*

It's amazing how nice the meltdown treatment on this is, everything is just smoooth... And loving the DC, first one I've gotten that has this finish.

I had the choiless version but it just didn't seem right to me. I wanted to love it but couldn't.I also found the handle to narrow and the blade, tip heavy for me. But I still love the look of them especially the large choil version.

You’re lucky I was saving my shekels for a bit of tigerhide, or I’d have been all over that one!

Yeah, I’ve got big mitts and the handle is narrow but did a cord wrap on it and it’s a lot better. Anyone who’s ever looked at pics of my knives probably knew that was gonna happen regardless... Mole Jack? Wrapped it. HOGFSH & HHFSH? Yeah. ‘Squatch and the ergos? Yeah them too ;) Everything? Nope, but a lot

And I thank you for that :p

To be honest I was surprised it lasted as long as it did but oh so glad that it did.

Winston,

I'm glad you got the knife you have been longing for! My 2nd Busse was a Satin Jack in 2002, not much different from the Boss Jack – they are nice knives! Don't wait 10 years for the next one. ;):D

Must start doing cord wraps . You must have big mitts alright, I find the Sarsquatch or a TGLB perfect as is . Congrats on it, she is a beauty and glad your patience has been rewarded.

Actually it’s more the aesthetics and me not being able to leave well enough alone on most of them. I take the guts out of the paracord and it doesn’t really add much in the way of thickness but does make it a little grippier.

On the new Jack I left the guts in and it did give it a bit more handle that way. I’ll get a pic up later.

As promised,

Kind of hard to see in the pics, but the cord with the guts out of it does sit a lot flatter on the Mole Jack and in hand there is a noticeable difference with the guts in.

It really changes the look of the BJ as well, although that wasn't necessarily what I was after.

Yeah I'd imagine that's a lot better . I considered getting liners fitted to widen mine but decided not to as I had other knives that would do the same job. The answer could have been fairly simple but never thought of a paracord wrap:oops:

Actually, I like the liner idea as well. I really don't know how much of a user this will end up being, I just know I've always wanted one

If it does end up getting beaten on I may pursue other options then and will keep that in mind.

If the Custom shop had been open I would have done it. But asked other guys and was going to work out to costly . If it had been a user I might have drilled out the tubes and made something myself and assembled again with torx bolts but abandoned the idea

I love the Boss Jacks that i have, one of the hardest to decide as to which to sell. The Protos are my favorites!
