Can someone post up a pic comparison shot please? I'd like to get an idea of the dimensions difference.

Oops. Meant to start a new thread. This one got me thinkin'...

Hmmm. Boss Jack similar in OAL to ASH-1 and less than SAR-6. I got an SAR-6 recently and it's the only reason I hesitate to order a new BJ LE. Might wait for them to appear on the Exchange (always happens after the mania ebbs, right?) and after I evaluate with a sober mind (hah!) my desire for one :D. I do want one... must resist until Cupid reveals his wares! Or at least until tomorrow :(.

price is right but hard to get past the belly and handle on the sar 6. if I had to pick it would be sar 6 i think. if I was to go with the boss I'd do choiless jungle with green/black g10. choices is the big plus for the jack IMHO.

Well, it doesn't look like I will be paying off my credit card balance this month!

For the money a CG BOSS Jack is the way to go.

I don't care for how thick the protos were as they had to be ground down a ton to get a decent slicing capability. But the new CG's sound like they won't have that problem though and should be a great overall blade. The SAR 6 is still a much bigger knife overall so it makes it hard to even compare them objectively to each other.

But apples to apples or Satin to Satin, it's a whole different story as that makes it tougher to choose just one. The key difference for me is thinner stock with the no choil option for the BOSS Jack LE to justify it as a compliment to the SAR 6 with each having their strengths complimenting the other's weaknesses.

If your hands are small to medium size then you could skip the SAR 6 and go with the BOSS Jack. Large and above the SAR 6 might feel better.

What are your needs or intended uses for the blade and which one do you think will serve you better a majority of the time?

The BOSS Jack LE will make a great hunting/EDC type blade and the SAR 6 is more of a woodsman's blade. The reason I say this is I suspect the LE's will weigh around 10 oz and make a lightweight 6" blade great for pretty much everything but chopping vs the 16 oz of the SAR 6 which will do everything pretty well including chopping.

In the end, it's still a tough call to pick just one of the two.

I have a SAR 6 and my wife has the boss jack proto. I have small hands and I don't like the way the SAR 6 feels. The Boss Jack is great to me. I ordered the LE.

Damn... I have a 6 and I just order a BJ.... that combo sounds cool. I wish I got that instead. My only hang up with "cool" blade colors is that eventually it will look like crap and I'll strip it. Thus, paying extra is dumb. I got black with pumpkin.
