I've got a BG Boss Jack on order but really like the Urban Grudge.

Both are pretty close in specs.

Which would you prefer?

I noticed the similarly as well. I hope the UG has a chunkier handle than the BJ and I like the slightly shorter blade on the UG. Would love to see a side by side photo.... But I think the new UG has a slightly different shape than the previous UG, but I could be wrong...

Same price. Same blade width. Same blade thickness. Handle length within 0.115" of each other. The BGUG has a 0.75" shorter blade but has a flat saber grind as opposed to the full flat on the BGBJ, plus the BGBJ has a bit of a drop point, so the balance may feel pretty similar. I guess it comes down to which do you like the looks of better?

If you can spring the extra $200 get the satin INFI UG and don't look back!

I have been wishing for a knife that is half way between a boss jack and pork shank in size (both of which have similar proportions). The UG LE is pretty close, and should be legal to cary in Texas.

Well, entire world of technology is backfiring at me right now. Best I can do is upload the image to my google drive so here is the link to comparison between Boss jack, UG, B11 and a full size 1911

As for my opinion on the knives, I love both. UG for me represents everything I personally would want in a kind of knife that would have to do some dirty work. But since that isn't what I do, so it is just part of the collection. I live in CA, so everything longer then 3 inches has to be open carried, which means I am not going to EDC this thing.

Jack on the other hand fills a lot more roles for me. It is also a bit more comfortable for everyday use. And I think it is my favorite knife overall. It also looks less threatening when you are around people less interested in knives. I have SOB on the way, should be here on Friday, and I'll see if it will become my primary camping knife from then on.

Great pic Volk - thanks. Unlike you, though, I am not really a fan of the Boss Jack (on the other hand, I love the STJAC and Boss Street). The key, for me, is in the handle. Though my hands aren't big, the Boss Jack handle just didn't fill my grip. For this reason, it didn't feel that secure in my hand and felt more like a very long steak knife rather than something I could do some serious work with.

I wonder what the handle will be like on the Urban Grudge? It looks fairly similar to that of the Boss Jack, but small differences can make a big difference in feel, as we know.

John, the handle on the original UG feels smaller, maybe the fat custom shop UG would fill the hand better. My first Busse was BATAC, the handle grew on me, and was very comfortable. But personally I felt there was a little too much handle. It's purely personal preference at that point, Boss Jack Proto feels amazing to me, and the blade is thick enough for me to feel like it can take a serious beating. If it came down to it and I personally had to choose one to keep, it would be Boss Jack.

Everybody has there own personal preference-I like a large Choil, so I am loving the Urban Grudge! GRUDGE ON
