How do you folks like the Boss and Meaner Street versus the other models?

Also Swamp Rat models you might have in mind would be great too guys :)

Basically I'm in a huge rush to try them ALL out!

BS is good for a more robust EDC knife. ADs are smaller & lighter... & culti is even smaller still. the meaners (IMHO) are more self defense oriented EDC type knives because of their "pointyness". i guess it depends on your cutting needs... buy 'em all; you won't be disappointed!!!

Rats for EDC, Rodent Solution, Swamp Warden, Vex, Hairy Carry, Rat Hunter, Howling Rat. Sure there are more but those come to mind first.

I have two of the AD's, it'd be PERFECT if she had just a bit more meat to her :)

Boss Street
Sar-3
Rodent Solution
Howling Rat

All of those are are on my radar.

Magnum Bear Cub wouldn't be a bad one either, I like the lines on it.

Yeah it's quite odd because to own some of the best folders, you gotta spend 7-800 dollars, but to get the best fixed blades, we're looking at 2-500. Even the Busse Custom Chop knives are reasonably priced considering they carry the same warranty and some special people did some special work to those.

It's a very sick hobby I have. I thought I was into flashlights and watches too at one point... nope! Those of you who know me personally, I was a very avid balisong collector until Busses caught my eye. I don't even have a single one that I'm keeping these days...

The Sar3, BAD and Cultie are my favorites. Some folks may throw the Game Warden in there too, but I find it a bit heavy (chunky) for my taste.

EDIT TO ADD PIC... Threads without pics are so boring... ;)

No... I don't really carry a .25... Cool lil pistol though.

What makes you such an expert? Have you ever chopped a tree down with your EDC? It happens in everyday life and you need to be prepared =)

I edc'd the boss street for about a year. It is definitely more robust but the tip doesnt lend itself to piercing tasks. It also got weird looks from sheeple when it came out of the sheath. Before that was the sar 3 which I recently went back to for reasons I've already mentioned. Better point, thinner stock so a better slicer also. But I agree get them all!

The Culti is bigger than the AD. It has more handle length and the same blade length (if I remember correctly from holding them)

To the OP, Which BS are you looking at?

.22 is a pretty stout edc. I carried the GW in that thickness for a long time.

I have the CABS, and it is sweet. Thinner, convex edge from the factory. No choil!

The BAD is my edc, when I edc a fixed blade. I did for about 3 years. GW, BAD, or SS were the normal edc's.

I'm rockin' my MBC in the last few weeks since I got pants for the little guy. Carry horizontally on the belt above my right pocket. Can't even notice it's there most of the time.

I EDC a CG BOSS Street or Meaner Street as a third line of defense after my Glock27 and S&W J frame of course;)

I had some interest in that model as well. It seems a bit thin for me but honestly I've yet to encounter a SERIOUS task that I wouldn't take on with my folders anyway. By thin I meant the blade is a bit narrow. The handles look great and despite open carry rules I don't think I'd get a felony for carrying that thing in my pocket.. but ehh California, it wouldn't surprise me.

There was one for about $200 here, I shoulda picked it up.

The Boss Street is my favorite smaller Busse. I have a few of them, both flat anorexic and hollow ground .22" (Thanks Garth!). It has a superb, solid feel in the hand and the blade is long enough to be useful. It's true that it's a little beefy to pull out around sheeple, but it's a knife that really works and satisfies.

The Meaner is nice too but I like the blade shape less. The AD has a great feel in hand and is excellent for those who prefer a shorter blade. If I had to rank these four:

1) Boss Street .22" hollow ground
2) Boss Street Anorexic
3) Active Duty
4) Meaner

Since most of the Busse knives have been mentioned...

Swamp Rat Vex & HRLM come to mind.

SRKW Vexillaris (means 'thin sand rat'), AKA, Vex. Also 4" (IIRC)...Thin blade, sharp little sucker!:

HRLM (sitting on a Ratmandu)...4" long, lots of belly, decent usable choil:

ETA: Just remembered! Also the Rodent Solution is a nice little knife. about 3.25" long, with a really comfortable handle. (sorry, no pic handy of this one.)
