OK, so I've seen some of these with black paper and some with the black micarta like the one I have.

Were both these prototypes offered at the same show, or was it a Blade West and Knob Creek show offering?

And, are the prototypes the same dimensions as each other? And the new CG...

Somebody, Anybody...?

The DC was at Blade west, and the black paper at Knob Creek and the Easton show, as far as I know. There seems to be quite a lot of variation within each version - for example, my DCBB is .208, while Bruce's is around .220.

The D/C & black micarta was at Blade West, while the satin & black paper was at the Creek (EDIT: I'd go with what oeser said in Post #4 on what was @ the Creek... I had a Proxy hook me up, so all I really remember is the satin & BP because I didn't have that yet :))... A few of both were on hand at the Easton Trunk Show...hidden away, but there for the HOGs. :)
Although they look to be the same dimensions as the CG one, I can't be sure on that, but both the Protos seem to the same (to the naked eye)...at least mine are.

Here's what I know, and if I'm wrong I am sure to be corrected.

The DC/black micarta came out at Blade West. The satin/black paper came out at Knob Creek and the DC/black micarta was offered there as well. AFAIK they were both available again at the Easton, PA show.

I have a satin/bp version and my measurements have matched up with the DC/black micarta specs listed before and they seem to be the roughly the same as the CG version. The only thing I wonder about is if the CG version is a little thicker in the blade due to the coating.

When can people start selling the Boss Streets on the Busse for sale forums? When they come down those pipes, I'd like a satin finish please :D

My satin & black paper from the Easton show matches all
the specs on the BCK site except for the blade thickness.
Mine comes in right at .200" thick after I reset the mic to zero.

It seems to be a pretty standard variation between a satin & coated blade,
I'll bet that without the metal removed for a satin finish and the coating
thickness, the CGs will be right at .220" thick.

Hope this helps.

Yea, the Boss Street Prototypes are without a doubt very hot knives. I don't think that there are all that many going around right now...

I have made 3 sheaths & they all fit the Proto's that they were for ? :)

I agree with this, and the ones I've done I havn't heard any different. I am molding off the DBL cut with micarta for the protos. Not really worried just more wondering why my HOGFU was not good enough to score a black paper proto.:grumpy:

I picked one of each up at Knob this fall .Should have picked up a couple more .
I knew these were instant "CLASSICS"
(sorry bout the crappy picts)
