Someone wanted a 3/16" boss street so bad that they had me take down a 1/4" Boss street to .175. Drilled a few holes in the tang to lighten it up a bit as well. Flat grind that transitions into a zero convex. Sorry for the crappy pics as these photos were taken on my camera phone. This is one of the last few mods that I will be doing as I am trying to focus my energy on other things.

.

Cool, nice job.

I know what you mean, mods take a lot of time and it is hard to charge the proper amount to make it worth while. Does your "other things" have anything to do with knives?

Yeah tell me about it. I lost track of how much time it took me to take down that knife from .250 to .175 by hand without a surface grinder.

I am just trying to focus my energy on making knives. BTW, I am still using those set of dies you made me

 As I was reading the first post, that was my question, whether you had a surface grinder. Must have been a real b***h to do a flat grind on the platen.

Great work. Wanna do a BOSS Jack for me? ;)

OK, serious question. Some folk have reported that drilling INFI is really hard. Is that your experience? How do you drill it?

I always enjoy reading your posts Ban. I admire your work :)

Woo hoo!!! thats my baby!! Can't wait till it gets here!!! Thanks Ban, looks amazing of course, to say the absolute least!!!!!!!!!!

So nice.

Just love your finishes.

Too bad you are not doing any more mods, but a man's gotta focus on what is important, and your knives are stellar. This is definitely one time I would tell some one "go ahead, quit your day job!"

Congrats on a fine knife.

I'm curious, did you consider ordering a SCABS direct from Busse?

Actually, Im having a .220" done by Garth right now!! Oh, and I have a Cabs already, but wanted something different. Currently, Busse is only offering the .15" Cabs, and the custom .220" versions. So, Garth is doing me up with a beautiful .220 thick one, and Ban is blessing me with my grail knife(for right now, anyway...), the .175" thick one, that he put so much work into. I love these Boss Street blades so much!

Yeah flattening it is a real pain alright. INFI is pretty hard to drill. I usually end up chipping my carbide bits when I drill it. Luckily I learned to sharpen those 3flute bits by hand. The hardest stuff I have drilled was CPM-M4. Don't even bother if you don't have new and sharp carbide bits. Even then it may take a bit or two.
