snakeskin will never happen again.... They made it on accident the first time and cannot duplicate their mistake....

Yeah they can... just put it under a magnifying glass and you can count the layers and colors. I'll make some... just send me all of your snakeskin for me to analyze :D.
 
Won't make it again does not equal can't make it again, especially since the fact is there are two different batches, the older dark stuff with lots of red and the newer light stuff with more green, that argue against the one time accident theory. ;)
Would I like to see it come out again, you bet! :D Do I expect to see made available again, doubtful. :grumpy:

I know the secret!!! mexican blankets!!! Just make mexican blanket micarta and blamo you have snakeskin! Just try to find a blanket with crazy designs and colors that look like a snake.
 
I have looked closely at my Snakeskin and as far as I can tell it goes from the bottom up in this order (on my SS Culti);

black canvas
red paper
black canvas
red paper
tan canvas
red paper
black canvas
red paper
black canvas
red paper
black canvas
red paper
tan canvas
red paper
black canvas
red paper
black canvas

As far as I can tell, it doesn't seem that difficult to replicate, but then again, I know squat about making micarta
 
Putting layers of colored material in a certain order doesn't seem like rocket science to me either but maybe there is more to it than that. If it can't be duplicated I'll bet some cool patterns could be made by trying!
