My wife and I will be celebrating 10 years of wedded bliss this April and plan on spending a weekend in Boston. Does anyone know of a place that offers or has weekend apartment rentals? Any recommendations for good cheap hotels? We are on a budget and want to spend less than $100 per night.

Happy Anniversary, Ken.

I can't do this from here, but look up Bed and Breakfasts in Boston. This is not high season, so the rates may be reasonable. Beacon Hill or other close proximity
to the Public Garden would be best for such an occasion.

First off congrats on the 10 years. I have no suggestions, just wanted to say we spent a few days in Boston almost a year ago and had a great time. Check out "Boston for Dummies" if you haven't yet.

as was said, congrats. $100 a night does not buy much in downtown boston. you can sometimes find weekend getaways at the major hotels. You might want to check their sites. most major hotel lines have a "preferred customer" club you can joinn for free. THese clubs usually have specials, my wife and i recently enjoyed a romance weekend at the Marriot with free wine/cheese platter/breakfast but cost was $149/night (marked down from $200)

Don't drag that Yankees logo up there with you:rolleyes: You may get a better deal outside the city. At any rate, have a great time!

I have a Yankees cap that I bought a few years ago that has "The Red Sox Suck!" emblazoned across the back. I wear it with pride everytime I'm in Boston. I almost got my butt kicked once but I fended off the attack with an offer of free Sam Adams.

My wife and I stayed in Cambridge and road the red-line T into the city for our visits; we got along just fine with the public transportation and the hotel in which we stayed was pretty reasonable (compared to rates for places right in the city). Don't be afraid to stay out a little ways and take the train. We found it clean and safe.

We were fortunate to stay in Boston just prior to the Red Sox eventual World Series win. That was the first time I ever saw a "Yankees Suck" t-shirt. I've been a Red Sox fan ever since.

Enjoy your stay. I have a job interview in boston tomorrow, and if my past record of finding places in Boston continues, I might still be in the city when you and the missus arrive.

Happy 10th Anniversary to you and your Mrs. Ken.
I can't help ya with places in Boston, sorry!

That will also work in your Nation's Capitol, where there are a surprising number of Sox fans. I guess worship of 'the long shot' goes well with politicklin'. Beer has both ended and started many a confrontation.

Congratulations on your first successful decade. Dr. and Mrs. OP's wishes for many happy decades to come...

Checking with the individual hotels for special rates is probably a good idea. I've avoided downtown Boston all these decades -- I prefer avoiding the congestion and especially the aggressive drivers. Instead, I've taken Sharp Phil's route...
