Just picked up a great piece of equipment from Paul Robinson...a Bothy Bag
It's a survival shelter pretty popular in Europe but not well know in Canada or the U.S.....(try Google)...I'd never heard of them ......it's a quick, portable shelter for lunches on the trail, emergencies and SAR use...
the one I got won't take the place of a tent or a bivy sack and is definitely not for stealth camping......it's a dayglo yellow....but it's a light, compact, water and wind proof two man shelter complete with four suspension points, two vents and a bottom drawstring..... I intend to vacuum pack mine for a light compact addition to my daypack....they're reasonably priced enough that I'm looking at getting a larger one (they make a 4-6man or 10-12 man) in a more sedate colour like forest green for a light shelter or deer hunting hide....
I'll try to post pictures later
