Went to local fleamarket today. Took 2 rifles & 1 12 ga. brought them back and picked up a like-new Ruger 10/22 & a Polish semi patterened on our 1911 .45. The E.B. Radom Was an officers weapon. When Germany invaded Poland September 3rd 1939 [ I well remember it ] the germans took the factory & conveerted the caliber to 9mm, their principal ammo.

It's a tough gun but I'm still trying to get the slide back & tear it down. Any help ?

Oh,yea, I paid $400 for both .

I dunno but I googled the Ransom because it sounded interesting, they seem to sell for 1000-4000 or more so it sound like you may have got a good deal on that one. The 10/22 is fun gun, do you have any plans as far as customizing it?

No plans to alter the Ruger. I also have a Ruger ranch carbine in .223 with Ap & tracer rounds. Guess I'll wind up taking toe semi to a gunsmith but the bstds here want 39.00 just to look at it. I'll keep trying to open the slide. It has a de-cocker,my first encounter with such an arrangement.

Well, at least this time when you bought a rifle there wasn't anything.....illegal about it.

I was actually wondering where you've been UA, after that thread and you not posting for a week and a half I started to wonder.

Have you tried applying a product like Break Free or Rem Oil and leaving it for a few hours?

Another method I have employed:-- Get a small length of wood with a sharp edge. Point the pistol down muzzle first and place as much of the front of the slide as you can on the edge of the wood without covering any part of the barrel. Then push down on the grip using your weight.

Since the slide is locked shut, there's presumably no way to tell if a round is in the chamber. If there is it should not detonate unless the trigger or hammer is manipulated. But personally, I would use a backing thick enough to absorb a discharge in case of mishap.

Very cool. Any chance of posting pictures? I believe what you have there is a Radom Vis 35. However, I believe they were always in 9mm as originally manufactured.

Does the slide move at all? If Suflers pix above is your pistol looks fairly straight forward...well, maybe. Point the pistol in safe direction, pull the trigger..after the bang, if any, drop the magazine. safety off, hammer down and move the slide to the rear w/your right hand..try various locations for slide stop removal notch..looks like it ought to be the first notch back from the muzzle..push on the slide stop from the opposite side of the slide..it could should come out. EXPLANATION: On a S & W 6906 when the front edge of the slide stop reaches the first cut notch in slide, the stop is positioned to come out..you do not see the notch in the slide.

It could be, or not, that this pistol has a similar hidden dismount notch..and you may need to try pressing on the slide stop from the opposite side of the slide which pulling to the rear. Under no circumstances would I hammer on the slide stop to remove.

Good Luck.

Since M67 tweaked you lightly on your previous find, I'll pass on same.

Sold the little jewel today for $275.00 . When I sell the Ruger 10/22 for $250 I'll have made $125 for a days work.

Sigh. Unless that Radom was a junker, it was worth at least $500. The last 3 I have seen around here went for $750.
