Hi, I just received my Buck 120 General from 1992. The knife looks fine, however the surface of the groove in the blade is quite rough, considerably rougher than the rest of the blade.
Is this always like that? From the pics on the Internet I can't really tell.
Thanks fro your help.

Best regards,
Markus

Markus, I only own one Buck 120, it is an earlier version than yours; while the groove is not as polished as the balance of the blade it is not what I would call "rough" OH

Markus, Mine is like Hunter stated. A little rougher than the blade. If this really bothers you some fine sandpaper wrapped around a pencil makes for an easy fix. I don't know where your interests lie in knife usage but the 120 is a very useful size camping and around the kitchen. enjoy, DM

@ Old Hunter and David: Thank you for you replies.
The knife will be a user, some it is not of major concern. Anyway, I will post a pic

Nice knife. Either Buck missed a finishing step or some corrosive agent got on the knife and the knife was wiped off but the groove was missed. If the price was right who cares?

Your prop covered up the blades stamping??
I've seen the Fuller groove done in that manner. It looks unfinished. Yes, I think a polishing step was left out. I would sand it or use OOOO steel wool on it wrapped around a small pencil. Until it looked like the rest of the blade. Your welcome, DM
