Hello,


I Just bought me a Cheap Benchmade and I do not have a clue what model it is.




All I know is that it is ATS34 with a 3.5in blade.

I think it is a 830 Ascent maybe a Pika but I am not sure



If you guys know what it is please let me know.

This knife is a USA made 830S (for partially serrated) lock back knife. The steel, ATS-34, is a good steel - similar to 154CM. Circa late 90's or thereabouts, these were inexpensive, but carry easily. Missing the pocket clip, which can be gotten from Benchmade at 800-800-7427. Make sure you tell them the model so the correct length clip screws are included. Knife looks in good shape for its age.
 
Sort of a plastic handle lock back version of the AFCK. I have an 835-07/00 .

May be wrong but I think they called it the Ascent , name was later changed due to some legal stuff with another company.
 
Wow!!!!! Nice find, when you said cheap, the first thing that popped into my head was the old red box line.
 
It came in and it was nasty.

Just all types of crud (Food, Toe Jam, Grease) and rust.
Knife was dismantled and took a bath in my sonic cleaner.
I use HOT water with a Simple Green solution.

Edge was still near factory grind. Just needed a Run on the Sharpmaker.

Nice photos. When an older model comes out as nice as yours is, it's a testament to old school quality. That knife has been given a new life...no doubt!:thumbup:
