Hello Everyone!

New member to the bladeforums here, have been a unregistered reader of the BK&T forum for a while now. I've wanted to jump in and be part of the community here, but decided to wait until I had a BK of my own. I'm sure I'll regret the choice to have waited and missed out, but better late than never right? Well I finally had an opportunity (unallocated funds) to buy a couple BKs. Hurray!... Placed an order for a BK11 and BK21 on Tuesday, and selected free shipping (so much regret) hoping to have a package full of new toys on my porch by the end of the new week. I had a very difficult time trying to pick which BK's to get right now, and which one's will have to come later (so many good choices). I'm happy with the first two I've selected, and am excited to pick up some other's like the BK7, next chance I get.

So I make this post in introduction of myself. I hope to make many more and have great discussions with people on the topics we all enjoy. I'd also like to thank the members here who have cultured such a welcoming and enthusiastic club of outdoor loving, Beckeritis ridden, crippled knife addicts. Those who post of their adventures and stories, informational tutorials and common sense practices. Those who back their blade brothers and sisters as family. And a special thanks to Uncle E, for being involved and allowing us to share our's with you and your's with us. I greatly enjoy the information, experience and stories you share. I look forward to our interactions to come.

And now... I wait for delivery.....

Welcome home pathway! I know the pain of waiting for a Becker in the mail. Waiting for the first is the worst.

I think you made a neat choice for your first. One of the most useful and one of the most devastating.

Keep us updated on how it goes!

Congrats! Nice choice of combo, too. I use those two blades on a regular basis. Check out my videos on the bk21. The secret is in the snap cut.

Congrats on the order, and welcome to the forum!

Given what you've got on the way, I'd suggest a BK-16 next.. You've got the small and huge ends of the spectrum covered. But no rush, you've got pleeeenty to play with coming up.

Welcome to the group. You were smart to start off by buying more than one on the first go around - it is hard to have only one. Congratulations on the purchase of two great blades.

Welcome aboard, shipmate.

Good on you for introducing yourself and, if I may say, displaying wisdom by ordering more than one right off. They are, in fact, like Lays potato chips in that you can't have just one. You catch flak here of you don't post pics.

I see that you hail from Utah; anywhere near Moab? I've have accumulated some fond life experiences and great memories on the Jeep trails in the Red Rock area.

Nicely done pathway, I am sure you will enjoy the new Beckers the way we all do. Welcome to the addiction.

Thank You! I got a giggle out of your "first is the worst". I'll do my best to update things worth updating.

Thank You! I was actually planning on visiting your thread to comment about those specific videos, you beat me to it. Your chop chop video especially, I found very helpful and am grateful you made it. I understood the concept of the snap cut technique and what it offers with the correct tool, but did not understand completely the movements and grip used to achieve it. Your video was just what I needed to get my head all the way around the concept, I now feel confident about using it without hurting myself or looking like a fool. Soon as my toys arrive it will be practice practice practice.

Congrats on the order, and welcome to the forum!

Thank You! I am a big fan of the BK16. I figure after what I ordered comes in and I get used to them, learn the strengths and weaknesses of the blade sizes, and what my personal preferences are. I'll be able to properly assign priority to my list of what's next. 16 really is a handsome knife from the pictures I've seen.

Thank You! Smart? I wouldn't say that. Experienced enough to know that 1 at a time isn't enough for me? Yes. And even worse than having only 1 is having NONE. So clearly I had to double none, (hehe) only way out of my problem it seemed.

Welcome aboard, shipmate.

Thank You! Call it wisdom if you will, I call it medicating. Indeed I've come to find the chip analogy to be quite accurate. I will do my best with the pictures, my phone isn't too smart with good quality photos. Guess I'll have to call in some of those "seriouslyimportantshouldnotbewasted" favors from people who owe me a life debt and ask to borrow a camera.

Utah is a very neat state in my opinion. I live about 3 miles from Utah Lake, about 3-4 hours (depending on traffic) from Moab. I'd like to get me a dedicated crawler some day, or even something smaller than my E150 van (and 4WD) for trails like a jeep. But for now I can go almost anywhere with my Eiger 400. Not quite the same experience as hiking miles into the Uinta Mountains for some discrete camping. When I get a hold of said camera, I'll try and take some pictures of the great view I have of Mount Timpanogos.

Nicely done pathway, I am sure you will enjoy the new Beckers the way we all do. Welcome to the addiction.

Thank You! I aim to enjoy, and aim to put the working knifes to work. Also aim to seek NO treatment or help for my addiction.

Glad it helped. That's why I do what I do. Enjoy your blades. FYI, the micarte scales are very worth it for the bk11

Welcome to the campfire pathway!
Nice to have you out of the shadows and posting on the BK&T fourum.
Nice choice on the new steel!
The BK11 was my first and it's my go to neck knife.
And you're gonna love the 21! It's a lot of fun!
