Hi Folks,
Was fortunate enough to be able to buy a big collection of knives that had only been picked through by one person before I got to see them. That person bought a box full and left the rest. I bet that person bought some neat stuff. But by the time my wallet had been severely lightened I walked away with some really sweet finds as well.
This always makes me wonder what my family will do with my treasures when I pass on, but I guess it makes no difference , I wont be here to fret about it. But to move on from the sad thoughts and back to the great thoughts and thrill that has been the better part of a week now.
I knew it was a huge chunk out of my play fund and for many knives I didn't even think I would want ,but once you get them home and start to go through them it is amazing how long I might chicken-eye and coon-finger a knife that would have never caught my interest if it had not been for the need to pick them up and oil and inspect them. Most of these will eventually be moved on to new homes where they will be enjoyed much more , but it sure has been fun going through them to learn about them and study them and preserve them. These knives had not seen proper attention for a few years for sure.
Anyone else ever run into this fun experience?
Here is a quick picture of a handful I have been playing with this evening. The case canoe is gonna be a keeper I think. Cant seem to look away from it.
