I've read the posts and decided to make it happen. Sweet little knife and can understand's everyone's postive reviews. Bought a Case yellow delrin peanut and brought it home and slipped it right into the collector's box. Oh, right for got mention I didn't buy the knife for myself, decided it would be the perfect first knife for my son when he get's a little older (it beat out the Alox Pioneer I orginally put away for him).

Now to think about what I should do for my little girl. She's got an Alox Cadet set aside for her. Thinking lightening just might strike twice for this knife.

Just wanted to say thanks to all for the input and influence.

Just ordered a Case damascus amber bone peanut for dress up. I have a Case samber stag peanut that I regularly edc. Good to use all around.

You know what would be cooler, JHB? To give your son a cool little Case CV Peanut that dad used to use. You know, one with some use marks on it, maybe some Patina? That would be sweet.
Just a thought.

Both of my daughters have Vic's and Case's ready for them. Why stop with just one? Hey, if one is good...so is 10.

ElCuchillo - I'd thought about that as well, but thought his first knife should be one he gets to break in. This way he can use and abuse (I hope not) and in the event of a loss he'll understand what that knife meant to him. Besides when he gets to the age where he says dad I'd like a knife with a little bigger blade I'll hand him over a trapper (I'd like to say the trapper as both you and Jackknife have me thinking could I walk the same path). His grandfather (my dad) has already promised him his well-worn Swiss Army Classic.

65hoss - I hear what your saying, adding to their future collections in someways has been more fun than piecing my own collection together. Right now we have enough (a point my son will contest) toy swords to form our own legion. I barely get my coat off most nights before he and his 15 month old sister come charging down the hall not to give hugs or anything like that - but duel. Watching my daughter grab the largest sword yelling "hiya" as she walks towards the door will probably remain one of my fondest memories.

Well sorry for that tangent but on point, I think the flame has been lit and they will both enjoy the small collection I've started stringing together for each of them.
