Bought an older 300 series at a flee market; how rare?

I bought an older buck 300 series at a flea market.

It's a 3 1/4 in. stockman, flat grinds, matchstick nail nick on the clip point blade, and
no swedge on the clip point. Hammer and knife logo with delrin handles.
If I shined up the bolsters it would be near mint.

Walk and talk is perfect and there is absolutely no blade play. This is a very
well made knife. I have other slippies and barring Victorinox nothing comes close to this one as far as build quality is concerned.

Anyone have any idea about the history and value of this knife?

It looks like the middle knife in this picture but without the swedge.

Also, the main blade tang says "BUCK MADE IN U.S.A."
The other two tangs just have "BUCK" on them.

Oh, and it looks like the springs are carbon steel because they have a patina on them.
The blades I'm sure are stainless.

300bucks on here, is way more up on 303's than me, so I'll defer to him, but if all three tangs have "Buck" on them, then that should be a Schrade made contract knife from the late 60's.

PS, VERY nice find!!!!!!!!!!

Ok just snapped a pic and here she is (my camera isn't very good close up):

Can't tell you any info on these knives, but boy are they nice. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pick it up for. You can find some steals at flea markets. Got a 119 for 20 bucks.

I got it for $30. I'm not much of a negotiator. That was only $5 from the asking price. :-)

Me either, the man wanted 25 bucks for the buck 119 and frankly I would have been better off buying a brand new one. I paid 20 for the knife, 12 bucks for shipping back to the factory to get it cleaned up, and then 16 for the new sheath.

That sounds like one of my better deals!!!

Congrats, brother.

My favorite vintage 303. Schrade made for Buck, hidden blade pivot pins, 1967-1972 era. I know you aren't going to do this but if you abuse it and blades loosen there is nothing you can do to fix it. Buck will not repair this knife only offer you modern replacement. If you compare shape to Camillus contract Buck 303 you will notice a more , shall I say: sensuous shape. The sheepsfoot blades seem to set up really high on most examples, If you work carefully and slowly, you can lower it in blade well a small, but pleasing amount by stoning the toe of the tang.(In photo the toe of the main blade is beside the B in Buck) Most likely 440c blades. Worth every penny you paid. If I would have run on to it, I would have bought it, as would a few other fellows that visit here. 300Bucks

It appears to me to a second series Schrade made Model 303 dating to l967-72. Nice find in that condition.

Edit: Sorry about that 300Bucks, you beat me by three minutes!! :)

Awesome! great info guys!

Now I just need to decide if I'm going to user her or not. :-)

Tin, I was jumping back and forth, re-editing size of photos so you didn't see me ....and I failed to mention Version 2.

msiley, there are two of those 'other guys' I was talking about..........I carry one of mine as a EDC but do not pry with it. One of the other points some people like is the fully tapered blades. You can put a small, fine, right at the tip razor edge on them...

300Bucks I have one simular to that, with the hidden pivot pins, and the four line stamp on the main blade, but there is nothing on the two secondary blades. Any idea on the time frame on it? HL

THANK YOU 300Bucks for that information. I some how managed to get my hands on two different knives that are that way. Both are three bladed knives. HL
