I have been hunting high and low for a Case Half Whittler. I know I could order one on line but I enjoy the hunt. Hitting yard sales, flea markets and pawn shops when I can.
I'm currently on vacation in Morehead City, NC and had a few minutes to burn so I stopped at a pawn shop to browse. They didn't have the 6208 but they did have a Boker single spring Half Whittler in stainless. Upon inspection I found the following:
Stamped:
R WERNER
2000 AD
CULLMANN AL
The slabs look like they've been replaced with pearl. No pins visible. Mirror polished blades and bolsters. Blades are 100%. Springs aren't nail breakers but not mush either. Half stops on both blades.
The best part:

Now I'm completely clueless as to who R Werner is and I'm sure this wasn't the score of the century but I don't think I did too bad. It cost about the same as a Rough Rider & shipping and I can quell my Half Whittler lust for a while
.
If any one can shed a little light on R Werner I'd appreciate it. I didn't find much on line.
