bought me a 422 Friday

the marking is 422 /....does the marking date it the same way it would on a 110? i paid 14.99 with the box and all :D , i had never had one and they sure do dissapear in the pocket. i checked several times this weekend to make sure it was still there and hadnt fallen out. im accustomed to a 112 in my back pocket

Cool pick up-sounds like you did real well-was that the same hardware store?
It does follow same date code system-believe thats a 93

yep, it was the same store. i went there Friday when i heard they were getting rid of their knife display simply due to a lack of sales. i did help the owner who is a real nice guy a little bit, and i told him to keep the early 112 with the plain blade and the two 118s because i simply didnt have the money to buy them, so in return he sold me the 422 for 15 bucks. farmers come out by the swarms when they hear Buck knives are marked down and they were sold out by Saturday night. crazy, huh? ah well, i would have liked to have gotten more, but so be it. like i said this is my first 422 and i really like it, but i wish i could have gotten the green one.
 
overall i did score a 112 and a 422 in the past month or so, so i did get some good ones at fair prices. that makes me feel a little better LOL...i wish i could take better pics, but with my daughters crappy camera all i get is a huge glare off the blades?!?!

Check this thread out. Unfotunately, 300bucks has eliminated excuses or bad pics. I am a hypocrite though cause I havent employed it yet. I have all the materials but my wife wont let me cut into a storage container, gotta get out to wally world and pick one up.
