Bought my first Becker

Hello everyone,

Long time lurker, first time posting. after much reading on the forums I bit the bullet and bought my first Becker, a BK9. the knife just came in today and I can see why everyone loves these knifes.

I look forward to taking it out and having some fun with it in the near future. I do have a question. Does the small BK13 not come with the BK9 any longer? I have a place for it on the sheath but there was no knife in there. Just wondering because all the posts I've read everyone seems to get one with thier knives.

Anyway, I want to thank everyone for steering me in the right direction with all the informative posts on this forum. If it wasn't for you I probably would have got something I wouldn't be as happy with.

Yeah man, good to have you here. Come back anytime. Now in regards to your question, It has been laid out better by others in the past but here goes.

The BK13 also called the "Remora" did for a limited time come with BK 9's and BK 7's. these were chinese blades and they were given away as freebies with those bigger knives, until they were gone. KaBar started producing them for sale here in the states as an individual knife, around $20. You can still find those bigger blades at distributors from time to time (old stock) with the BK 13 included.
 
Welcome! My first Becker was the 9 as well. I've been a long time knife collector/abuser, and I knew I had something special when it arrived. Trust me, when you get a chance to see it in action you'll be hooked on these beakers like the rest of us are.
 
Welcome to the party! The BK9 is an awesome knife, but you may still want to consider making a sheath (or having one made) for it. I hope your stay here will be a long one. Hurry up, there are still a few Beckerhead #'s under 100!

Oh, and rule #1 of this forum: Post pics. Lots of them. We want your pics :D

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the forum. I just bought a Remora for my BK9 sheath. Got it for $19.99 shipped.
 
Welcome to the Becker sickness. We all hope you hang around for a while. Congrats on the 9, it's a monster of a knife :thumbup:
 
Welcome to the campfire!! Good choice on your first Becker. The 9 was my first as well and I wouldn't change a thing if I had it to do over again.

Beat her up a little and post some pics!
