Bought my first BenchMade, I feel good.

I got a 690, with a 154cm blade, not the black blade the shiny one. I have a couple spydercos. But I really like this knife.

I thought I would share here, but I'm gonna try not to get hooked on knives, like candlepowerforums.com has me hooked on lights!

You can't go wrong with the 690. It's one of my favorite Benchmades.

I recently purchased my first benchmade in a long time. Its probably been 10 years or more since I had one. I vaguely remember the last one I had. It was mostly aluminum and had these spacy anodized blue handle skins. It was built like a tank but not really good for breaking boxes down like I bought it for. I ended up selling or trading it for something else.

I just bought a 960red in D2. While it was smaller than I expected, I'd say I'm happy with it. Its more of a gentlemans knife and will be giving my Cricket a run for its money.
 
After purchasing my Grip and Mini Grip (the D2 Cabela's version) I "upgraded" and purchased the 690 with the Black BT coating. A very beautiful knife and everything about it says quality. The lock up is excellent as well as the fluid opening and closing of the blade.
 
got my second benchmade today-
a new 440 oportunist a few months ago and a used mini skirmish from a forum member arrived today-

glad to see a few usa companies that still make the best of the best of something-benchmade and spyderco are 2 good ones--

now i will have to compare my mini skirmish againts my camillus cuda and chris reeve small sebenza-
 
Congratulations. All of Benchmade's knives are great. The only thing I don't like about the 690 is the lack of a left handed thumb stud. I'm not left handed but I like things to look symetrical. I would also want it to be there in case I wanted to use my left hand to open it.

Welcome to the forums by the way. So do you like listening to police scanners?
 
Congrats on the purchase. We have the opposite problem as I got hooked on knives here first and then found CPF. Now I'm hooked on lights too...

Knives, lights, there both expensive, so I cant get addicted to knives. I dont have a real use for it, just EDC. You never know when a blade will come in handy. I use my lights all the time, you never know how much you use a light till you EDC one.

Mr. Dirt. Yep, I like Scanning when I am at home. :D
 
Congratulations and welcome to forum.
690 is a great knife. Now you need to get something like 710. Ares or 520 for tough job. You will feel even better with two Benchmades.
Forgot to mention -spydercos are great knives as well. Did you see Kopa, Military, Manix, Adventura, Dodo, Native, D'Allara Drop Point

Congrats an welcome to BF!! I too have flashaholism AND I am a knife knut!! Just do yourself a favor now, and open up your wallet and say buh-bye to your money. It won't be as painful down the line.
