Well, I finally did it. They built a new Cabellas not too far from the university, so since I had to visit UT today, I thought I'd step in and see if they had any D2 minigrips. And they did!
So I bought a black D2 minigrip straight edge.
Yay for me. I have a spyderench on E-bay still pending too, so I might get my first spyderco nexttt week.
Thanks for all the help from you good folks in choosing my next knife. It made a big impact.
In the knife reviews section, later tonight probably, I'll be posting a review of the minigrip. A brief one, as always. Also, I'm working out a four way comparison of three inch EDCs. Using some of my friends' knives, we would have four different folders, four different steels, with four different locks from four different companies. Might be interesting--Kershaw Storm versus CRKT M16/11K versus Spyderco Centofante versus Benchmade Cabela's Minigriptilian. I will use multiple testers to compare them on f&f, ergonomics, factory edge, aesthetics, price...nothing Cliff-wild, especially since 50% of these are owned bby friends.
