i bought my first hand forged knife. It's made by a chinese maker 鬼谷子. It seems the guy makes quit few of the same kind of knife and sells them to dealers. You can see more of his work at his forum http://www.ggzd.com/ggz/list.asp?l_id=18. i ran across a dealer on taobao kind of a chinese version of eBay. Since it was only about $45 (300rmb) shipped for a hand forged knife i said what the heck.

it's made from T10 steel with a bronze guard and pommel and stacked leather washer handle. 17cm overall length (a bit under 7 inches)There were scratches on the guard and the blade which didn't bother me, the guard face is cut at an angle(it's flat but doesn't meet the blade at 90 degrees),there are 2 pics that show it in one it looks better than it really is in one it looks worse, which i think was a bit careless, but it feels pretty good in the hand and cuts great. so i'm pretty happy with it (especially at the price).

here's some pictures (please forgive my camera phone pics), let me know what you think.

Nice looking knife! If you don't like the sheath you can try and make another one for it, or have one made.

Comfortable looking handle too!

I just got my first custom recently too; an SDS Nessmuk in 154cm and curly maple.
