And I am quite impressed with it. Its a salute with the bead blasted finish. It fits the hand well and locks up tight with no blade play. I have collected and used traditional knives for years and decided to try something differant I know that this is SOGs lower end knife, but I thought it would be a good one to start with, its gouing to be my EDC for awhile to see how it does. Thanks for reading.

I dont have a salute yet but was thinking about one. Looks like a good knife. Make sure to post pics and a report if you do any testing with it.

I've got the Salute pass around right now, and for the price, it seems like a good knife. I don't know how long the steel holds an edge, but it seems alright to me. I think it would make a good knife that could be used without fear of damaging an expensive folder. I've got a couple Emersons, a Benchmade, a couple composite blade Kershaws, a Night Vision, and a Vulcan. These are all knives that I'm very hesitant to ever let anyone else use. They were kind of expensive, so I don't want them getting damaged! A friend once wanted to use an Emerson of mine to pry out a brake pad from his mountain bike's disk brake caliper. Thankfully I asked what he needed it for and kindly refused to let him borrow it for that. My point is, the Salute is decent quality at an affordable price. It's a folder that I woudn't hesitate to use.

I was attracted to its simple but functional design. The price point made it attractive to as "beater" EDC.

Just wondering though; there were reports that the exposed metal on the underside of the handle sort of "bites" into the hand, especially after prolonged or intense use. Do you feel similarly with the design?

I have only had it a couple of days with very little use, but have had no problems with the exposed metal. It fits my hand well. I will post more as I use it more, with summer coming on it will get a workout.
