Yeah, this site is hard on a wallet. I mostly don't go for traditionals, but I do have a few. The only one I carry on a regular basis is my old Imperial boy Scout knife. I like the fact that it has a bottle opener and a flat head screwdriver on it. The awl comes in handy for pokin things too.
Good luck at your new job. What did you do before?

Welcome tel. You have very good taste in that peanut. But then, I'm just a little biased toward peanuts.

Carl.

Down the slippery slope. Next you will need a Sodbuster, a Trapper and a Stockman and so on down the slope. One thing about traditional is that they not only cut stuff but IMHO they have Class that the modern type of knives just don't seem to have. Yellow handles, Bone and by all means carbon steel blades. Lookout pocketbook. Have fun.

Next thing you know you'll be looking into custom traditional knives......like I did  $$$$$

I think you made a great choice (ok I know I am a little biased here :p) but that is perfect for office carry and you will be surprised how ofter you will end up using it. I keep a SAK classic on the base of one of my monitors at work and usually have a small knife in my pocket at work. A bigger knife banging around in light slacks just does not work. I might get into trouble if someone opens my briefcase though. I keep a lock back in there made by a good friend ;)

I've had my eye on a peanut for quite a while. If one doesn't show up later this month when I hit a young 36 years of age I'm going to order one up. The stag tiny stockman I carry at work is pretty, but the peanut is, I think, a better pattern for that size. Classy little knife you have there.

You've got good taste in knives with the Sage, Sebenza and peanut. Trust me that little Case can hold it's own on many tasks and even excel at others compared to the Sage and Sebenza. The only thing you need to be careful about is it slipping out of your pocket if you wear slacks at work. I usually only carry slip joints in jeans but there are ways to prevent loosing it like a pocket sheath or handkerchief.

You've made a good choice. One thing I've learned over the years, as handy as a "One-handed Super Tacticool GreenBeret SEAL Knife" is, They just don't carry the warmth of bone or stag handles, the memories of a nice patina earned over the years of food prep around a campfire with family or friends or the memories passed down to the next generation. You can get by with only one knife, but where's the fun in that?! Do your part and stimulate the economy and buy one more!

Jeff
