My son is in the Marine Corps and he is based in Maryland. He is very hard on knives; especially keeping them clean. Add to that the time he spends in or around salt water (mainly recreational) and his knives suffer badly from corrosion. So, I bought him a H1 Salt for his birthday. I found it ironic that the first time he sends a picture of the knife....he's in a desert. Always nice to see pics of a knife in service.

Good choice. I also bought a Salt 1 (serrated edge) with the yellow handles for my older brother. He's not a knife guy but he always carries it around. He does alot of outdoor activities (hiking, spear fishing, surfing, camping) way more than I do. I remember this one time when he thought he lost his Salt and he was going crazy almost in panic mode until he found it. It was still clipped on the waistband of his wet shorts he had changed out of in the laundry room after a day at the beach. Glad to know it doesn't rust.

Awesome I'm sure he'll enjoy it and use it well.
Before you know it, he may want another salt.
Like the all black Pacific Salt.
