I just got my 1910CKT from Kershawguy today and I tried to flip the pocket clip using the T tool only problem is, is that the first screw is stripped and I can't remove it. I thought it was my bit at first but I used it to remove the scale on the back side so that isn't the problem. Is there anything I can do to get this out? I know it's not covered by warranty so I figured you's guys would know.

P.S. Kershawguy is amazing! I got a tracking number in an email saying it was shipped litterally 5 minutes after buying it. Ordered Tuesday morning and came in the mail today, VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER! :D Couldn't find a damn thing wrong with it just like I've heard most people say. (I may have stripped the screw myself) Had to order a red R.A.M. today too :o

If you absolutely can't get it out with the torx, you could try taking a hack saw blade and cutting a line across it and using a flat head screw driver. Kershaw will probably send you out new clip screws if you ask them.

What a great idea! I think I'm going to have to do this, this puppy ain't catching at all

I read somewhere around here where Kershawguy had said that even though it's a blem, Kershaw will still take care of small parts like screws, springs, etc. Being as your screw is probably screwed(:)). You should try contacting them for some more. Did the screws have loctite on the threads? Maybe it was really tight and caused you to strip it. Don't feel bad. Stripping screws seems to be my specialty.

I had to do this to one of mine. I went a little different route though and used the small file from my leatherman squirt :D

I recently purchased a ZT200 blem from Kershawguy. When I tried to changed the orientation on the pocket clip, I found out a screw was stripped after I pulled it out and then couldn't get it back in. I called Kershaw and now have a couple sets of clip screws on their way in the mail. Just call them, they'll send you replacement screws.

An extra screw doesn't do me much good if I can't get the old one out and break the whole knife if the process! ;) Stranger things have happened to me unfortunately.

I have found the screws Kershaw uses are pretty soft and easy to strip, and I try to be easy with the correct pressure but it has happened quite a few times.

Did you try one torx size larger? When I stripped the pocket clip screw on one of my knives, I pulled lightly upward on the pocket clip, it then unscrewed it. Worked fine on a Spyderco wire clip.

Take a file or dremel wheel and make a straight line notch across the screw. Then use a flat blade screwdriver. Have to do this on cars sometimes. Except i cut the edges flat and use a wrench:D

I did actually, the screw isn't even noticably stripped and did no good :\

If you're not afraid of scratching the clip, you can try using pliers to get a grip and twist the head of the screw.

Stripped screws are the devil. The worst ones are those screws that are embedded deep in something and unreachable with a file/hacksaw (Oakley X-metals, you suck!).

As for scratching the clip - when they send spare screws, they always include an extra clip. At least in my experience.

Similar idea...i have always used a dremel with a cutting wheel and just cut a slit across the screw head then used a flat head to unscrew it..just make sure not to cut into the clip or knife itself.

I agree just cut it and use a flat head Kershaw will get you some new screws.

+1 for Kershawguy. he does ship fast I ordered a 0350CB from him on a Friday night and it was in my mailbox Monday, and I am in FL.
