Bought new Benchmade, box came sealed in plastic, is it real?

Had a gift card to the “river” store online. Bought the Freek in M4. Came this morning in a sealed box. Also had the round sticker sealing the box under the shrink wrap. Knife looks legit. Seller isn’t on Benchmade’s dealer list though. The only other Benchmade I have is the cf elite Bugout and that came from an authorized dealer with the round sticker but not shrink wrap....the knife “looks” legit but you never know, I even had to loosen the pivot a bit to get better action, which leads me to believe it’s real, lol. I can always send it back if it’s suspicious. Anyone received a box like this?

I have bought a number of brand new in box Benchmade's. None of them were in the last few years. I have not seen them in shrink wrap but it sounds like a good idea. Have you contacted Benchmade with your concern? They are really good at follow up.

No way to know without seeing the knife. No way to tell from the box. Post up pics of the knife and I bet you can get a consensus quick.

I used to work at a mom and pop video store when I was in high school and we had a shrink wrap roll and a heat gun so we could make the display boxes and keep the movies behind the counter. It’s easy to get a clean looking plastic wrap if you’ve got a little experience.

The store probably wrapped it.

The ones in the storage case at Cabelas are wrapped like this, I believe it’s how they are shipped to distributors from the factory.

Here you go. Im leaning towards it’s authentic but I may send it back and just buy from a authorized dealer.

And knife looks good to me. Agree that stores might shrink wrap to keep the integrity of the contents...from employees! Benchmade boxes are very easy to get into, and reseal. So it makes sense to make it more difficult....
