Bought some Bosch t-shank blades for my Surge

That's a sweet set-up you have there. Albeit those blades do cost a pretty-penny.

Still, I envy your current set-up and congratulate you on some very fine additions.

I EDC the Surge too and am gonna have to save up for those blades, but heck, I thinks they're worth it!

Thanks for the info on where to get 'em. Keep us updated on the Carbide Blade.

PM your address. I bought a 30-lot from Ebay, and now have far more than I could ever need... 6 each 5 different blades. I'll drop you a few in the mail :).

Is this post meant for me Clead? Because I tried to PM you and your profile won't accept email messages at this time.

Unless of course, it isn't actually for me. hehe :D

Thanks.
S.

Try again Sparkee. Yeah it was meant for you. :D If I don't get rid of some of these 25 blades I'm not using, they're gonna just end up as more sh&t clogging up my rec/gear-room!

Sorry Sparkee, I'm a cheapo basic member. No PMs, and no email. Drop me a line at "clead at hawtmail.cawm" Yeah I spelled the first word right, just not the second and third :).

Communication completed :D.
Anyone else want some? I can send off 1 or 2 more 5pc sets. I'll do it for the good Karma (and as long as I can still use stamps with that weight in the envelope :D)

How do these blades fit in the tool? I use a Bosch Jigsaw almost every day and I have the blades but never knew they would fit a multi-tool?

LOL I guess I better get to a Post Office! It's tough finding time between work and the 2-month-old and wifey I have waiting for me when I get home.:) I'm pretty sure I have parole on Thursday night to pick up a skookum Fenix P1. Woot!. More crap for my belt!
ps Sparkee, I have your addy printed and in my pocket. I'm halfway there!

Thanks for the heads up re: blades and Surge. Can't wait to get to my local Costco for the Surge/c308(?) combo. I even have my wife's blessings.

Nice set up!

How well do the Bosch T shanks fit the Surge bit holder?

- Frank

I recently purchased some Bosch T-Shank jigsaw blades (T101BIF) thinking they would fit my Surge's blade exchanger. These Bosch 101BIF (14 TPI DPP FPO) fit but are much looser than the LM that came with the Surge (i.e. the Bosch 101BIF's have a lot more wobble - in my veiw, to the point of being dangerous). It seems that the problem is that the Bosch (and several other brands that I tried) are not as "thick' as the LM T-Shank blades. Are there any Bosch T-Shank blades for wood or metal cutting that are thicker and would not wobble (or wobble as much) in the Surge's Blade Exchanger? (I remember reading, when the Surge was first marketed, that the Surge was designed to use standard T-Shank blades ??) Are the Bosch better quality blades than the original LM T-shank blades? Does anyone know in which country the LM T-Shank blades are made?

I did some rough measuring relative to the T-Shank blades that come standard with the Surge, and found the LM T-Shank blade is about 3 & 3/8" long overall and about .07' thick. It appears to me that there is nothing in the Swiss made Bosch line of T-Shank blades (of which there are several dozen sizes) that comes close to fitting the Surge out of the box (i.e. if you expect the LM to open and/or close properly and if you expect the blade to not have an excessive amount of wobble). For that matter, after looking at the specs from several other manufacturers, I have not found any other T-shank that fits the Surge properly (relative to overall length and thickness) --- or even comes close. Am I correct that there are almost no .07" thickness T-Shank blades available except the LMs? I think it is misleading for LM to make representations relative to the T-Shank and then find that only LM's proprietary T-Shank blades work properly (out of the box) or safely. Does anyone disagree?
