Bought two Benchmades....and no Snodys?

So I drove an hour and a half to the rather excellent Praco gun and pawn in Waco Texas to buy some Benchmades in person. Unfortunately, they had sold the Gravitator in the week I had been gone, which took it out of the running. The contest was then between the mini skirmish and 960, where the 960 won out just for sheer beauty and smoothness. I topped it off with my long desired morpho. Bought a couple more minigrips just cause. And a chive.

The gravitator and resistor will have to wait for another opportunity to join the collection, despite so much deliberation...
 
Damn dude, your my hero. Buying 5 knives at once! you must not have a warden/wife. :D Z
 
i think you'll enjoy that 960. for 1 knife carry in a sheeple environment i don't think there is a better production knife.

Too bad they didn't have the Gravitator. I have one and it's one of my all time fave's. Better luck next time. And good on you for buying retail! If everybody would buy more retail, there would be more retail places where you could go and play with/ buy knives.

Yeah, the 960's a hell of a great knife. The red does tend to make it stand out in your pocket a bit though, for only this reason I like the 940 a little better. I wish I had the kind of dough to plunk down on a bunch of knives at once. I only bought 2 FRN Spydercos this week, but I'd buy a hell of a lot more if I had the money. I'd love to be able to walk into a well stocked knife store and say "Great! I'll take 'em all!". Someday. When my ship comes in.
 
yeah, the red does stick out. i went with silver and managed to find a version with s30v and g10. i think my sweat would make salt spray rust based on my experience with some other knives so for an uncoated blade i was leary to go with the d2. i actually prefer my 921 but with the handle color and overall larger size i find the 960 more discrete...
