Received my prototype Boubon street skinner from Andy yesterday, I was really looking forward to this knife, and I'm not disappointed. The handle as usual is well crafted and comfortable and the overall shape and design of this knife is dead sexy. Here's just a few mint pics, I'll be adding to this as I get a chance to put her through her paces.

Mmmmm bourbon!

Man, that thing is sweet. I covet that little bow legged Joe, too. Thanks for posting those pics. Now I want a BSS even more...

Great photos. . . and great taste in Bourbons and knives/kmifemakers!
Cheers!

That is one beautiful blade. Good taste in firewater too.

Thanks guys, it is a very sweet blade, been holding off cracking that bottle of 15 yo Pappy ( been saving it for Blade this year) luckily I haven't been drinking much so the temptation isn't there, but I've been eyeing a bottle of Willett bourbon that I've been meaning to try

Damn! You got a nice collection! THat one is the icing on the cake. I am really into this new model!!!

^^^ lol!...don't you love it when that happens?!

Great pics as always Jared. Sucker is a little bigger than I thought....

Looks like that color sheath compliments the knife nicely too.

Thanks! You make excellent knives, the BBS is a sweet piece, keeping an eye out for a matching snubnose

These pics cost me money, Jroden. Thanks for that.

:)

Sorry about that man :D:p

Thanks man, I'm loving the size of this one, just right

Got a chance today to use her for a bit of food prep
A few thoughts then some pics, the blade geometry is excellent for this kind of work, just sailed through everything

And the blade shape and handle shape allows for a very good rocking action that keeps your knuckles off the board

All in all it's very effective in the kitchen,

Brilliant knife and brilliant bourbon. The 15-year old Pappy has always been one of my faves.

How is the tip? Can you drill with it or is it too thin? Seems more of a slicer than any of Andy's other models. I want one...

That knife was ground from 3/16 steel. The tip will drill.

Let us know what you think of the Willett -- I tried some recently and was disappointed. It wasn't bad, but tasted more like a Scotch to me than a Bourbon; I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with Scotch, but that wasn't what I had my mouth set for. I also got a chance to taste some 20yo Pappy at Christmas -- it wan't bad, but even ignoring the price difference, I prefer the 10yo Rip (90 proof, not the 107). That bottle of 20yo Pappy had more bite than I expected. I haven't opened the one bottle of 15yo Pappy that I found last year -- it's very rare around here.

It was probably the onions that got that patina going. This knife is creating quite the stir, I could see one in my future in 1/8" steel, guarntee that would be a slicer. Nice design Andy see what happens when you think outside the box brother. Nice pics too BTW.
