Hello all...

today it hit me( no pun intended), bow and arrows look fun to shoot!
i was watching the show last night on the travle channle where the guy goes around and hunting to get in touch with this wilf side, anyway he was fishing with a bow. It looks amazingly fun and i was wondering if there are any cheap money wise like under 50 bucks not cheaply made, that would be easy to obtain and learn with. Also is there a way to make my own Bow and Arrows? Any help, videos, and pictures will be appriecieated!

I'll pass along this;

Three Rivers Archery

That'll get you started. However, Archery isn't the cheap sport it would appear to be. It's very addictive...

You might be able to find a used Bear recurve close to that price on ebay. Archery's a blast. Try not to start with too heavy a bow - 40-45# is plenty to get you going. Much heavier than that and you risk forming bad habits.

Making your own is fun and satisfying. I suggest volume one of "The Primitive Bowyer's Bible" to get started.

Shooting a bow set up with peep sights has a "zen" quality that is so fun.

You will be surprised at how accurate you can be out to 30 yards.

I would not go with a straight recurve, but would get a bow with cams: a compound bow.

The cams make it easy to hold the string back at full draw.

Most adults can shoot a bow with a strength of 45 to 70 pounds.

PSE makes quality bows at a good price point.

Get carbon fiber arrows, not aluminum.

Thanks all!

ill start with this for now...

i know its not great by any strech of the imagination but it might be good for a start!

Don't waste your money on that. Look for a Full Recurve on Ebay.
I have 3 that I got on there including 2 compound 50lb bows, each delivered under $50
Be sure and get arrows with a spine weight that matches the #lbs of pull on the bow.
3Rivers archery is an excellent site
