Does anyone have some good information for a novice wanting to learn to craft his own bows?

EDIT: I'm referring to bows and arrows, that type, not fire-making bows. Just to clarify.

Have you ever checked out "Primitive Archer" magazine? A wealth of info on the subject.
 
Besides joining Paleo Planet, you also want to buy the 3 volume set of the Traditional Bowyer's Bible - it covers way more than just bow making. Excellent instruction and information on cordage, arrow making, etc.

Like has been said Paleo planet and in particular the : Tim Baker Bow: It is purortred to be one of the easiest bows to make and works quite well .
