Any chance this could be added to other models in the future? Thinking about the RC3, 4 and 6. Or make it a option?
Would require thicker slabs on other models but it's such a great part of the RC5.

It is easily added to any micarta slab with a 1/2" drill bit. You don't need to drill very deep...just enough so the drill doesn't jump out.

Does the micarta get worn out when using it for a divot or does it hold up just fine?

Any material eventually wears but the micarta holds up really well. It will darken with use as a divot but it won't wear out unless you build fires this way every day.:)

Thanks Mike P !!! I'll add one to my RC-4. Can you use a counter sink too, with out the drill?

I think the divot would be a great option.

If someone had the complete kit Izula as a backup/EDC and a larger RAT with the divot, they would be pretty well set up with a few fire producing options quickly at hand.

you can use a rock or any solid piece of wood that will fit your hand. Dig a hole in the wood with the sharp side of a rock or a knife, or find a rock with a natural divot. I'd do this before potentially wrecking the grip of my knife.

Agree - I would practice on something other than my scales and if possible bring whatever that was with you when hiking. Use the knife scales when necessary.

But then again, I have 200,000 miles on my Suburban
