I think it would be no problem blowing it into a flame. I'd just break off the ember, add tinder, and viola-- FIRE.

The hardest part is finding a large enough chunk of chaga to make a fire board.

Great stuff buddy. Just reading up on Chaga and it sounds like a fireboard is only one of it's many uses !

Chaga is awesome. In addition to tinder, I use it herbally as well. I make dual extractions, and chaga tea is a base for many of my meads.

Interesting.... I love chaga tea. You have to decoct it, ie, simmer it for a long time, at least 6 hours. Crock pots are great for it.

The resulting tea is dark, looks like coffee, with a vaguely maple-vanilla flavor. It's really good!
