Bow fire in 6 seconds.........

Just saw one of those "Hall Mark" movie cowboys get a flame from a bow drill in about 6 seconds !

No, I was not watching, my wife was..........a cowboy was with a group of people and he wrapped what appeared to be a piece of hemp rope around the end of the drill and then put a bit of this in the hole.

Next thing it showed was him blowing on it and then a small flame.....in the hole !

Is this possible ? If so then this is the way to go.............

It is possible to make a fire with a bow drill in a matter of seconds. Using the right materials and a properly prepared tender bundle, and a nice sunny day = easy fire.

Alan Halcon has done it in 6 1/2 seconds supposedly.

Actually, it was just the coal (no flame). A few months ago, I got a coal in four seconds-- Christopher Nyerges and a few others witnessed and timed it.
