I need help in fixing a bowed blade on a Cold Steel Voyager II, which is a 6-inch folder that is handy for chopping through salmon berries here in the rain forest. The AUS 8 steel bowed out slightly on the cutting edge about in the middle of the blade and for the length of a penny. Can I just whack it back with a hammer? I ordered a Camillus Maxx in D2. Will that solve my whacking problems? Josey

First of all let me say that in my opinion no folder should really be counted on for chopping. I am a little confused about what is wrong with your knife, but I am guessing that you rolled the edge. You should be able to fix it by sharpening.

Thanks, Kyle. Actually the whole blade bowed, so it's kind of a half moon bend a half inch in all directions. I can't sharpen it out because the blade does not lie flat on the stone.
